a shuddering every so often happens with music. a soul crack and you are in a deeper place. that has happened on many occasions with both this and the original of this piece. only recently have i been able to even internalize that place let alone be able to access it again and again. powerful music is a gross understatement. Lifetime music, is woefully closer, but not all...

@Mr. Squirrel: haha, cheers dude.....it is for one of those moments where you 'fall in love' on the dancefloor, where eveyone and everything takes on that warm, magical, in-love vibe.....so glad your diggin man, was particularly interested in your view, being, as you are, the emotive-melody master ;)

hints of modal jazz. circa 58 bill evans and co. and that in a deep tech track is beyond incredible. i often think that the modal movement can be heard throughout especially things like ambient house, but this has so much power to accompany the melodic texture that it accentuates all elements at once and just works. this straight up just works, as you say, endlessly
- Rich Jones on April 20, 2009 21:42
@Mr. Squirrel: dude, you totally get it, i knew you would!! I payed a lot of attention to send effects, especially the reverb, to accentuate the melody and give it extra washs of texture in the background.....if you werent paying attention, you might just hear the rhodes organ line....but the extra textures are like 'reverb melodies', existing at the back of the soundscape like distant players joining in to play the melody, down the valley. Or something. I could of gone further, and probably will do....its stil w.i.p afterall :)
- Mr. Squirrel on August 15, 2009 00:24
to patch in new concepts into this dialogue, i must also say that i fully am in love with the fact that you DO use "classic" sounds. brings the warm of the purpose of tech music to full subconscious emotive effect in every track. not that you need only do so, but it is all the more powerful which ever you choose as you have chosen with so much soul at every junction.
- Rich Jones on August 15, 2009 00:31
@Mr. Squirrel: Seriously means a lot to hear that mate, I always, always want my stuff to have a soulful edge - somehow. And in the often cold, harsh landscape of futurism that is techno, it is the heart of the challenge to do that, and i attempt it with relish!!!! And much enjoyment.....so glad this cut resonated with you so much mate, as it was a very, very special cut to me. And not entirely finished yet! So we will see if I can add or refine it without tampering with its essence :) :)
