Mimi - DJ / PRODUCER - São Paulo - Brasil
As every boy addicted to music, Mimi started playing at parties for his friends. At that time, Inner City, House Master Boyz and Bomb the Bass were some of the bands that conquered his ears.
In 1994, his good taste leads him to his first residence, at club Down Town, in the East Zone of São Paulo. Between 1995 and 1998, Mimi also played at other clubs as Sub Mundo and Freedays, consolidating his reputation as a great DJ.
His work in the east zone of SP (probably were most of the people who attend parties in SP live), took him to clubs in Jardins neighborhood, where he was received with open arms by an audience that creates the general opinion.
At this new phase of his career, Mimi has already played in many clubs and parties such A Lôca (Wicked and After All), B.A.S.E., Lov.e, U-Turn (Eyedentity), Pix, Stereo, Manga Rosa (Efeitos), Piranha (Appointment and Bondage), Substância, E-Joy, Eletroleste, THC, Next (Colors), Disco, Paradise, Mood, Lov.e, Blood, Ultralounge, Circuit, Lassu, Ampgalaxy, Liquid Lounge (São Paulo), Kraft (Campinas) and Samanea (Ribeirão Preto), and the restaurants Vitreo e Bop. He was the resident DJ at Jazzy, Piranha Bar e Restaurante, Liquid Lounge, The Week, promoted Bom Bom chill in and the itinerant party Armonelectronicmusic; played at the stand of Cidade Intenet web site in FENASOFT (SP), SmartBiz DJs & Live P.A. Festival (SP), Semana de Moda, Mercado Mundo Mix and Queen Market, at the launching of M_Magazine, Parada da Paz 2001 (Peace Parade) and Parada AME 2003, Free Jazz Festival Lounge , Chemical Music Festival , Sònar Sound SP and mega festivals as Skol Beats and Coca-Cola Vibe Zone.
He also performed in many cities in Brazil, such as: Balneário Camburiú (Bar São Rock and Ibiza), Belo Horizonte (Urbana, Jet Set, Matox Puta Madre, Josefine, Marista Hall), Campo Grande (D-Edge and Nocturna), Goiânia (Pulse and Jump), São Sebastião - Maresias (Sirena, Lao and Bavaria Day Club), Curitiba (Mediterrânea and Cat..s), Salvador, Trancoso (Tostex), Rio de Janeiro (Dama de Ferro and ZeroZero), Búzios, Vitória , Santa Catarina . He developed the soundtrack for fashion shows for Renner, Senac and Fenit ; and in Teatro Teletón in Metropolitana de Santiago , in Chile .
The predominant style of his set is house and tech-house, with influences of disco, electro, minimal , breakbeats , house and techno. Mimi already played with top djs as: Lady B (F Communications,FR), Paul Davis (Circulation,UK) ,Clive Henry (Peace Division,UK) , Jim Masters (Open,Intec), Casey Hogan (Macintosh Records) , Pepe Bradock (Versatile ,FR) , Mike Surreal Parsons (Surreal,UK) , DJulz (Ovum ,2020 Vision), Lexicon Avenue (Forensic) .
Mimi was nominated as best house DJ for Noite Ilustrada Awards, a prize promoted by A Folha de São Paulo newspaper, and also as best house DJ and best national mixed CD (Transparent) for www.rraurl.com Awards, and again as best house DJ in 2001. In December 2001, as a producer , he released the track Sensibilidade on the CD SmartBiz Compilation Vol.1, with great repercussion. The track’s video clip was released in 2003, directed by Raul Machado, and it was nominated by Melhores da Noite Ilustrada prize (Folha de São Paulo newspaper) as best electronic music video clip.
Mimi was responsible for Tea Launch, a monthly project that spread electronic music and new DJs. He was one of the organizers of React project, a street e-music party at the East Zone of São Paulo. Nowadays, Mimi organizes and is the resident DJ of WHATEVER @ Tostex , along side Dj Mr. Gil , and also is the resident DJ at YAZZ and TARA projects with Dj Renato Lopes .
