I truly loved the idea of "open collaborations", i.e. when some piece is offered for remixing, adding new instruments, vocals and so on. So, I thought I'd give it a try myself. The problem, though, is that usually my piano improvisations are "full" already, i.e. it's not easy to add something to them. But I found one that seems to be based on a rather simple rhythmic pattern so here is the deal: download it, remix it, add any instrument you want, write lyrics and add your vocal, use this motive to play your own piece, anything you want :) Once you do it, feel free to share your version with this group: Marching pumpkins - A collaboration with you!

For the record, this was my original improvisation at Halloween time: Marching pumpkins - Milana by Milana Zilnik
And it turned into this song eventually: Light up my night - Milana by Milana Zilnik

Many thanks to Ray McGinnis who spent an hour working on the original MIDI. Here is Rays' message:
"Well that was an interesting experience in math. You played it at around 110 bpm but your MIDI file was made at 120 bpm. It took me a while to figure out how to make it not play slow in my DAW and synch it. It changed the song just a little but I think I can work with it. It is a mixture of 4/4 and 5/4 time but not patterned enough to make it 9/4 all the way through. The was even one 3/4 measure in the bridge. I thought that you might like to see what it all looks like in score view, so I made a screen capture of it: "
