Mike Newman is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in the Los Angeles house music scene. He regularly DJs at Hollywood clubs including Avalon and Playhouse, nightlife hotspots such as Supperclub, Greystone Manor, and Eden, and has played with DJs such as Roger Sanchez, Mark Knight, Cedric Gervais, Richard Grey, and Paul Harris (Dirty Vegas). Internationally he’s played numerous spots, including Privilege Ibiza and prestigious London clubs Jalouse and Chinawhite. He has the versatility to play everything ranging from downtempo and deep tech to big room house and progressive, keeping crowds dancing from the early evening to the early morning. Mike is busy in the studio working on original tracks and remixes, and regularly creates edits and bootlegs to use in his sets, many of which have been played by DJs such as the Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Afrojack, Paul Harris, and Max Vangeli.
Originally from the Midwest, Mike developed an early ear for music, playing both piano and sax from a young age. He was introduced to electronic music at the age of 16 and was hooked immediately, starting to DJ shortly thereafter. Now residing in Los Angeles, Mike has established a number of residencies and regularly plays at many clubs throughout the city. Currently he cites Axwell, Erick Morillo, Loco Dice, and Carl Cox as his biggest influences. Mike likes to take his listeners on a journey, building energy throughout his DJ sets and playing tracks that both surprise listeners and give them a feeling of familiarity.
