BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in Long Branch, a small city on the Jersey Shore of Central New Jersey, Michael Gibson, better known as Mike Gip, always had a feel for music. Born in June of 1993, Mike states that even as a young child, he's always felt and paid close attention to the rhythm and beat of a song, as opposed to the vocals laid upon it. Back in the early 2000s, Mike stumbled across an unfamiliar genre (to him at least), which was called Baltimore Club Music. After hearing songs like "Watch Out for the Big Girl" by Baltimore's The Doo Dew Kidz, "Slide to the Left" by the Late DJ K-Swift (also of Baltimore), and many more "B-More" hits, Mike felt the need to create his own songs with the same repetitive 16 beat count rhythms of hard hitting bass, hi-hats, and claps as the B-More classics. Since then, he would search many producing programs, where he finally stumbled upon Fruity Loops Studio months later. By this time, an offshoot of B-More Club Music was created, but right in Mike's backyard of The Garden State. Mike then felt the need to do research, where he found that DJ Tameil of Newark (Brick City), NJ, created Jersey Club Music along with other members of the Brick Bandits Crew, Mike V, DJ Tim Dolla, etc. After listening to other Jersey Club producers such as, DJ Jayhood, DJ Sliink, DJ Runnah, etc, Mike felt he had all of the education and necessities needed to take part and start his journey as a DJ/Producer in the Jersey Club World.

In August of 2008, Mike Gip released his debut Jersey Club Track with his own vocals named "Stroke It Up". At first he was an unconfident producer, but as time progressed, so did his producing skills.

In 2010, Mike Gip "Jersey's Handsome DJ" (an alias given to him by close female friends), then began gaining recognition in the Jersey Club World once he released his remix to Marvin Gaye's 1982 hit, "Sexual Healing". He caught the eyes (or ears) of many when he used profane samples in a clever manner. Months later, DJ Sliink of The Cartel Music Group in NJ, produced a Booty Bounce Club track (a sub-genre of Jersey Club Music) with Mike's vocals, in which Sliink named the song, "Booty Bounce Anthem". Once the well known producer from Newark released the BB Anthem featuring the vocals of Mike Gip, "All the bad females booty bounce to this" became a well known slogan in Jersey.

As time progressed, Mike Gip began making a mark in the Jersey Club world. Although Jersey Club Music was created in Northern New Jersey (Newark), that didn't stop Mike. Location didn't cause him to stop producing Jersey Club, although he's from Central New Jersey, which is a whole 45 minutes away from the Brick City.

Mike Gip is known for his slogan, "Let's Go Baby", as you will (if you haven't already) hear it in almost all of his songs. He is also known for his Jersey Club remixes to Robin Stone's "Show Me Love" featuring The Booty Bounce Club King, DJ Jayhood, Beyonce's "Dance 4 U" and many more.

Although Mike is known mainly for producing, he is also a club/college DJ. He has spun with names like DJs 4B, Tameil, Sonicboom, Kiff, Lil Man, Jayhood, etc.

Mike's humble attitude allowed him to connect with a lot of well known Tri-State producers/DJs and hopes to have a promising future as a DJ/Producer.
