This is aa really wonderful epic, sums up the planet well, with throwbacks to 50's sci-fi and modern ideas all together!

This is really great, incredibly relaxing, it reminds me of Debussy, and impressionist composers. Well done!

Very good pacing, taking your time with showing the music.. Also love the various synth sounds.. :D

Love that sound. You're using something called diva? google didn't turn up anything = which is odd. I assume it's a plug in?

funny sound right here - in a good way. Lot's of sounds makes the music seem more than it is - in the traditional orchestral setting.

@Bobbotov: U-R-2 KIND! I really appreciate your encouraging words. Just because of that, I'll keep going!

@Eli Wilson: Coming from you that's a real compliment! I visited your area. You music caught me off guard. I've never heard anything like it. I like it a lot. I need to listen to it more before I can comment on it and pick my favorites.

@SchizoBrainiac: Thanks for the comment Solo. I experimented a lot with the porta before settling on using just a tad. I absolutely rejected anything that sounded mechanical or non-human. Part of my frame of reference was Tomita's Venus (in addition to all of the orchestral performances I've heard). Tomita's opening horn call is very evocative, in the form a feminine vocal lead. I strived for something more subtle.

Always loved these opening chords; unexpected touch with the porta on the melody, but it works somehow — good call.

@Mike Leghorn: Yes, I've listened to all of Paul's stuff. And you know what? I need to come back here to listen to all of YOUR stuff, because there's nothing you ever do that I don't like! :)

@Folderol: Thanks for the comment Will. Interesting that you weren't keen on Jupiter -- I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you liked Venus.

@Dan Ling: Thanks for the generous comment Dan. Actually I managed to avoid freezing, since I got a new Pentium i7 "gaming" laptop. Diva runs great on it.

@Mike Leghorn: Speaking of The Aquarium from Carnival of the Animals, have you hear Paul's arrangement of that?

@Dan Ling: What a coincidence -- I used to look up at Venus while listening to the aquarium from Carnival of the Animals :-) Just kidding :-)

I wasn't so keen on your interpretation of Jupiter, but this one it right on the button!

The freeze button must have been your friend :) You and Paul are doing amazing work both - one using an amazing modular analog system and another using cutting-edge VA. Awesome cool! We are blessed with an abundance of gorgeous classical music rendered splendidly with synthesizers...does it get any better than this?

This was always one of my favorites. I used to listen to Tomita's while sitting in front of my aquariums when I was a kid! :)
