Mightyfools, the illustrious Dutch producers recognized by making raging parties as a DJ-duo, definitely deserve some enlightenment now that they have become a worldwide phenomenon.
Amongst their supporters are quite a few of the big shots: Laidback Luke, Crookers, Diplo, Don Diablo, Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand, Paul Oakenfold, Fake Blood and all of their dancing secretaries.
But having a long list of supporters is not the only thing they’ve accomplished.
After delivering quality records on well-respected labels such as Lektroluv (their current home label), Potty Mouth, Ultra, One Love, amongst others, their career took off like a living cannon ball. Whilst touring around the globe, bringing their energetic DJ shows, it’s almost impossible to believe that only a few years ago the Mightyfools were ‘just another DJ-duo’.
It all began as this cliché dream story. One night, these remarkable boys -Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer- somehow got lost in an empty club. Trying to break the deafening silence they started talking and it appeared they had a similar musical taste, as well as the persistence to break out. So when they combined their forces they created this foolish mash up of party sounds inspired by house, disco, electro and a dose of rock 'n roll, all led by their notorious bass lines. They broke loose and since then never got lost in quietness again.
Within a few months they became some of the most sought after remixers and producers in the current dance scene. The two seemed to posses a crazy gift, creating instant dancefloor hits and terrifyingly thriving remixes of top class artists like She Wants Revenge and Tommie Sunshine, making even the world famous band Fall Out Boy totally rave about this new take on their song.
So what is the trademark Mightyfools-sound? It’s an earsplitting slap in the face of high quality and extremely energetic music. It landed them a top five position and each EP reaching the top 100 on Beatport.com, a number one position on Djdownload.com, number one on rcrdlbl.com, number one on hypem.com and number one on the hypem twitter charts.. We’d rather not bore you with the rest, but the international press have noticed the Fools as well, resulting in airplay, interviews and livesets on Radio 538 (NL), Studio Brussel (BE), BBC Radio 1 (UK), 3fm (NL), Radio Cafe (HU) and more leading radio stations across the world.
Nowadays the Mightyfools are celebrated for their unequaled tireless performances on big events such as Sensation in the Amsterdam ArenA, Summadayze Festival Australia, Sonar Barcelona, Dirty Dutch, Mysteryland Festival, Extrema Outdoor, Creamfields UK, DimMak Tuesdays in Hollywood LA, Dance Valley, WMC Miami, Club MTV, Amsterdam Dance Event, Noorderslag and notorious clubs and events like Social Club Paris, Gatecrasher UK, Razmatazz Barcelona, Rauw Amsterdam, Fuse Belgium, Beta Denver, Chinese Laundry Sydney, Woda Mexico City, Voyeur San Diego, events for brands such as Vice, Jägermeister, MTV and Bacardi, and hundreds of clubs worldwide. All of this without losing their breath.
After hectic years that brought the Mightyfools all over the globe, eating and sleeping in airplanes, busting parties and bringing foolishness in many cities, from Los Angeles to Sydney and from Paris to Mexico City, jointly losing their sanity in all the clubs, the future promises nothing but more of their worldwide success. All we can do now is work out and try to keep up with their rhythm.
