The Microinsurance Podcast is produced by the Microinsurance Network within the context of its 10 year anniversary, and is an audio interview with an expert in the field of microinsurance.
This first edition of the podcast is an interview with Richard Leftley, who is the President and CEO of MicroEnsure, on the role of brokers in microinsurance. Richard explains the reason why MicroEnsure adopted the broker business model and examines the four key challenges they face:
•Products and processes that meet the needs of the clients and appropriate process;
•Training and education of the consumer and sales force;
•Data storage, reporting and management of information;
•Claim administration.
He also answers questions put to him from the community on client value versus profitability, how to motivate brokers to enter the sector, and the potential role of investors.
