This is my dad, Allan Scott, singing his own sea shanty. Sound effects added by myself.
Oldschool. Lovely and simple like a fireside singalong with the family. Thanks for sharing this gem.
@MaryCloud72: Hi, Mary. Pirate Song is one of five Sea Songs written about 18 or 19 years ago when my second son was interested in all things about pirates. Turned out, he wasn't very interested in the songs so they were filed away and forgotten. I came across Pirate Song some weeks ago when clearing out some old papers, made a recording of it and sent it to Mike who liked it, edited it, (I only have a very basic recording facility) added sea sounds and put it on SoundCloud. Since then I've found two of the remaining four, and sent recordings to Mike, but am still searching for the final two. Glad you liked Pirate Song. Kind regards, Allan.
My respects to your dad, he's the real fisherman!
Love it!! we did a play about "The Strange Voyage of Donald Crowhurst" this would have fitted in the design perfect. Whats history?
Very evocative, lovely song and voice :-)
I didn't know your father was musical, now all the pieces start to click into place.
With much love,
Your dad has a varm and strong voice, nice to hear his shanty x liv
I really, really like this ...he's got a timeless quality to his voice... and genius creaky box ( Recorder ) playing and salty sound effects
This is great Mike...respect to Puck Snr.
