Born, raised and schooled in the Residency City of The Hague in The Netherlands, Michell van Wijngaarden developed his obsession for music at a very early age. At the age of 10, he was already spinning for fun at parties, youth centres and drive-in shows, and this enthusiasm would come to shape his future career.
In the nineties he was the first to recognize Belgian talent Frank de Wulff and started throwing Belgium-Techno-House parties in "the Sater" in Leidschendam. These parties were a huge success and resulted in Michell being asked to play at several other clubs/events such as Parkzicht (Rotterdam), Rave the City after-parties (The Hague), 909 Bassline (Scheveningen), as well as clubs on the island of Mallorca.
By the age of 20 he had already reached fourth place at the Dutch DJ mixing championships in Rotterdam. Next to DJ-ing and radio-making for a couple of pirate and local radio stations, producing became another hobby. Several Vinyl EPs were released with the 909 Bassline crew resulting in a number 1 hit in the dance charts (M.I.C.HELL van Wijngaarden, DJ Gizmo (F.Salee), Jerry Wolffman (Rockwellers) on House Records and Belgium techno pioneers label Music Man). Michell also produced a solo track "The Games" on DadaRekords.
Due to health problems Michell had to quit the scene, but a decade later, 2009 was to be the year of his resurrection. Having never lost the feeling for music during his absence, it was time to hit the decks and keys again, Dj-ing and producing out of his new hometown 's Hertogenbosch, in Noord Brabant in The Netherlands. The same area where Tiesto, Marco V, Marcel Woods, Sander van Doorn, Fedde le Grand, Funkerman and Jorgensen originally come from. Yeah, holy ground ;-).
The digital revolution is here to stay and Michell has developed different media-forms to express this. He created a new show called the "PowerHour". PowerHour focuses on the different genres - House, Tech & Techno with soul influences and vocals and this fact demonstrates his willingness to embrace a range of different genres. In addition to this, the year 2010 saw him releasing tracks for international labels & producers in Amsterdam, Brazil, Austria, Belgium, Portugal and Mexico.
