Michal Poliak is one of the most successful Czech artists working in the field of electronic dance music today. A thrilling DJ and an audacious producer, he already has many outstanding productions and unforgettable gigs under his belt. A unique, captivating performance personality and someone fed by his love of the music since childhood, he has smashed dance floors at home and abroad for ten years now. As well as being intensely active in Central Europe, he has also entertained thousands of fans as far a field as Canada, Japan, Israel and Spain.
He began his production career in 2006 and achieved near instantaneous recognition with the club hit ‘World Republic’. The track was picked up and championed throughout the year by Carl Cox, who also included it in his Radio 1 Essential Mix in the latter half of ‘06. Since then he has gone on to have numerous successful releases, supported by of some of the most famous names in the electronic scene.
Behind the turntables he has performed at the most prestigious events in the Czech Republic, Transmission, Apokalypsa, Citadela, Pure (with Armin van Buuren), Creamfields, Mácháč and Hradhouse festivals to name but a few. Following a 12-month health-related hiatus, Michal returned more determined than ever in 2010 and launched a string of Wonderland events, which began at the Roxy Club in Prague. As the night’s resident spinner, he’s also brought other European DJs in to guest at the nights. After Jerome Isma – Ae’s guest turn at the first Wonderland, the sequel took place in the spring of 2011 at Mecca Club with Dutch duo W&W, which gave rise to a third incarnation at the prestigious SaSaZu with Hardwell.
Michal’s own label Republic Recordings was launched in 2011, releasing another floor-rocker entitled ‘My Republic’. This release contained a remix by Marco V, with whom Michal had also performed in June at SaSaZu. The summer season promises more exciting performances at internationally recognised events like Pleasure Island in the Czech Republic, the Mácháč Festival, the Free Festival (in The Netherlands) and two shows with Tiësto in Brno and Košice. Another summer 2011 highpoint will be his debut performance at Ibiza’s famed Amnesia club, where he’ll play the Pop Star night.

The ultimate culmination to the year will undoubtedly be his performance at Transmission - the largest indoor event in the Czech Republic – where Michal will perform alongside such greats as Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz and Gareth Emery.
