About
Since moving to New York in 1994, where he got his BM at the Manhattan School of Music, Michael has worked with Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Liza Minnelli and Elton John, to name a few. In doing so, he has played major venues in New York and beyond such as, Madison Square Garden, The Beacon, O2, Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Albert Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Hammerstein Ballroom, Town Hall and more.
Michael toured with Liza Minnelli in her comeback tour in 2002-2003, which kicked off a week at the Royal Albert Hall. During his residency in the band, Michael recorded on the "Liza's Back!" album produced by Phil Ramone. He also played with Liza during this time including the WKTU Miracle on 34th Street concert backing up more then 60 artists.
He has made dozens of TV appearances with various artists such as Larry King Live, Good Morning America, NBC Today Show, Fox Morning News and more.
Michael originated the guitar chair at "Laugh Whore", "High Fidelity", "Grease [2007 revival]", "Next To Normal", "9 To 5" and the 2010 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical "MEMPHIS". In addition, Michael joined "GREEN DAY'S AMERICAN IDIOT" on Broadway as lead guitarist in March 2010. Michael is also an arranger on the hit Broadway show, "Next To Normal", which won the 2009 Tony Awards for best score and best orchestrations as well as the 2010 Pulitzer Prize.
As a composer, Michael's music has been featured on Lifetime, Style Network and MTV. He co-wrote the theme song for STYLE NETWORK'S show "How Do I Look?". Recently, he co-wrote the music for and played on Anya Singleton's critically acclaimed album, "The Other Side". Michael created Hybrid Music Productions in 2004, which specializes in mobile media content and production. His company has created quality mobile music content for a huge list of clients worldwide including: Burger King, Absolut Vodka, Budweiser, Ace Hardware, Disney as well as ringtone for the movies "Life Aquatic" and "Blade". Hybrid Music has supplied vendors with thousands of ringtones and mobile content on hundreds of platforms and carriers worldwide.
