Michael’s DJ career began with a move to London. A club promoter heard one of his mixes and the rest as they say is history! Michael’s trademark high energy sets and slick mixing skills secured bookings at some very high profile gigs and venues.

Michael then started his own night – Out of this World. The night exceeded all expectations with more than 750 people attending every week. Out of this World was so successful it lead to Michael playing all over the world. His biggest gig to date was playing to over 200,000 people at the World Drum festival in Seoul, Korea

Michael has now moved on from promoting to producing music. Together with long term friend and studio partner Elcias they are Hooker & De Freitas. Their original tracks and remixes have gained support from many current A list DJs. Hooker & De Freitas have released and remixed for Baroque, Whartone, Kitschy, Proud, Sweetleaf and others delivering their trademark sound.

In October 2010 they decided that they wanted to expand the brand so they set up and launched Re:Sound Records.

Re:Sound is a digital record label created purely for artists who make their own music. Due to the strong concept the label has already attracted support from many current A list house, tech house, and techno DJs / producers.

Michael has shown that anything is possible when you have the passion and the determination to pursue your dreams... Expect big things from Michael and Re:Sound Records in 2011!
