“Memória de Peixe” are Miguel Nicolau (guitar and loops) and Nuno Oliveira(drums), both from Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. The band was formed in November 2010.
In other words, is called “Fish memory” in portuguese and it means short or lack of memory.
They use “live-looping” to create songs with short loops (around 8seconds), with multiple parts, to develop and create songs with structure and improvisation moments, instead of creating only one big overdubbing soundscape.
In 2011 they released their first single “Fish&Chick” featuring the singer “Da Chick” by Lovers&Lollypops, that went directly to the tops of the Portuguese radiostation Antena3.
In April 2012 they released their first album “Memória de Peixe”, wich features Carlos Bica, Da Chick, and Catarina Salinas voice borrowed from “Best Youth”.
