Ahhh!!! It gets better every time I listen to it!
That portamento slide up into the chord! <3
YES YES ACTUALLY PERFECT
@Cherax Destructor: bro, you're so right. i'm pulling out all the stops. i'm putting BOTH INSTRUMENTS IN THE SONG AHHH!!
@LightningZephyr1993: Thanks, man! I really appreciate it!
Ahhhh, this is so great! I immediately stopped everything else I was doing when I first heard this. Fantastic work!
@JacobPadilla: Thanks dude!
@CDPP: Best compliment ever, holy shit, hahaha
Thanks! Yes, I think you're right, the vocals could use some reverb.
There's some clash in key signature here. the synth line that started at the beginning and runs throughout the song is in A minor, while the bass and "Whoop" synth (for lack of a better name...) seem to be in F# minor. It's fine to change key during your song, it clashes since the two are being combined at once!
Hmm, to be honest, I'm not sure what the tempo is. The drums, synth line, and vocals all seem to be following their own beats rather than compromising on one. Also, it's a bit difficult to make out the vocals right now, may be try recording them at a higher volume!
Try putting a little bit of reverb on this vocal sample here, it sounds very contained in comparison to the rest of the track.
Thank you! I'll make sure my next WIP of this provides a much stronger indication of where the song is going, that way you guys have more to critique next time.
Also, this outro is just beautiful. The chord changes are just yes, and I love how the piano sounds like it's on the other side of the room, so that is also yes.
Wowowow, this is so crazy and awesome! Loving the vocal delivery here. It's like getting punched in the face with cold-blooded dragon angst.
Whu... Oh my god, this is great. The tone on the electric piano is beautiful. Great work!
This synth is gorgeous.
Oh my god, I can't stop listening to this.
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the final version. Holy shit.
@Matthew N.: I think I see what you mean. The lack of pretty much any EQ-ing, samples, or bass gave it a somewhat more "live" feel, so to speak. This original version feels less like a recording and more like a dude just playing a song. That being said, I'm personally happier with the album version. It could definitely stand a lot of improvement, (Hopefully I can get around to fixing it up sometime) but I think it's closer to what I intended the song to sound like. And thanks! We made an awesome album, and I legitimately love a few of the songs on it, so that honestly means a lot! Downloads are now available on this if you'd prefer to have this version.
@vforviridia: Oh man, thanks! Actually, I hadn't thought of that. I've got a couple of other ideas, but I'll definitely try some fills as well and see what works best. Thanks a ton!
@vforviridia: Haha, thanks! To be honest, I'm not extremely confident in my mastering abilities, so hopefully I don't totally ruin it. I guess we'll see :D
@MusicByLFP: Thank you! Yeah, I agree with both of your criticisms. I'll make sure to work on both :D
@legion2190: Thanks! I'm not going to lie, I'm really flattered by the positive feedback this is getting :D
@Matthew N.: You're right, there's a lot of static and room noise I still need to remove. Thank you for pointing that out and also for the compliment!
There's a little too much reverb on the keys here and in the outro. The notes are starting to double up.
@FlightAcademy: Thank you very much for both the compliments and criticism!
@FlightAcademy: Yeah, I see what you mean. I think if I take out the drums in the measure leading up to it and retrack the vocal part in the tempo it's transitioning to it should sound better. Thanks!
The intro kind of reminds me of "Luna's Spectrum" by Voodoopony. (Which is a good thing, because Voodoopony is awesome.)
At 0:32, try fading in the very beginning of the speech clip; You can hear a click where it starts.
And it might just be personal taste, but I feel like the instrument acting as the bass line is a bit too thin.
But overall, I love it! I really like when people include either jazz or orchestral elements to DnB AND YOU GUYS DID BOTH :D
@the4thimpulse: Thank you! And yes, I agree. I've done absolutely no leveling on the vocals as of now, which needs to change.
Ahh, love this part!
