Awesome show. It's so obvious what's going on, but idk if it's because people are too busy, not seeing the writing on the wall, or are just willfully sticking their heads in the sand--as to why this isn't DOMINATING the news.
I think it may be because people start with a conclusion that says 'well George Bush didn't do it (or is maybe too dumb to), therefore all this conspiracy stuff is probably bunk' and they look for reasons to not look deeper. I guess anyways, plus the mainstream media doesn't appear to be eager in pursuing these questions.
Abby you made the distinction early on in defining 'conspiracy' and how both theories are technically 'conspiracy theories.' You should read Cass Sunsteins paper on Conspiracy Theories. In the abstract it characterizes conspiracy theories, specifically the one regarding 911, as categorically false--and then goes on to describe how 'it creates risks and challenges for policy and law'--all without actually addressing the veracity of the theories themselves... !
Many conspiracy theories have turned out to be true, so to start the paper by assuming that because something is a conspiracy theory, that it's false, is like tainting the rest of the paper with a hasty generalization. David Ray Griffin's book Cognitive Infiltration discusses it.
Anyways, great show, I wish this type of discussion had a more mainstream outlet.
