Steven aka MC Smeg started MC'ing as laugh at the young age of 13, He would MC in his bedroom over the top of Bounce tapes like wigan pier alongside listening to tapes recorded from maximes,monroes and sanctuary which featured m.c's. Steven would go to local youth clubs and leisure facilities where he would get to MC. After a couple of years Steven became quite good at MC'ing and his friends notised to, so they would push him to get himself out to clubs, Unfortunatly for steven he was under the legal age so strugled to get on in most places however steven got the chance to play at a couple of social events aswell as landing himself a booking at maximes thanks to well known local talent MC Roach Who Steven met on a DJ/MC course for youths. Maximes was a great achievement for steven because at the time it was regarded the biggest club night within the north west.
In 2004 Steven was on a family vacation at a caravan site in cornwall with his family. On one day they took a trip to the nearby city of plymouth.Whilst in plymouth a certain CD caught steven's eye,it was bonkers x. When Steven got back to the caravan the first thing he did was got out his portable cd player and put the first cd in, which was the Hixxy mix.As soon as he heard it,it sent shivers down his spine. He knew this music was the one for him and became harcore til the day he dies,He would even save his dinner money at school so he could go to a local record shop and buy tape packs from the Hardcore events. As soon as steven turned 18 he started to go raving up and down the country even though his mates wasnt into hardcore, it didnt stop him going on his own. In 2009 Steven met joe MC Duwkins (bonanza/choonz on toast/ravers reunited). Every Friday afternoon they would go up to Steven's for a mix and to work on new rhymes togever.After a while Steven Felt he was ready to hit the stage so got himself booked at waking the dead in manchester thanks to a recommendation from Robbie MC (notorious Promotion/Missing in Manchester). Unfortunatly the event was short lived and only lasted for 2 events. Steven Was now looking for a new place to m.c, then he met tony davies who used to help out at Kinetic and ran a successful local event in stockport called Pure Energy. After having a chat with tony,Steven managed to get himself abit of mic time.Fortunatly for Steven, Tony enjoyed it and desided to make him a resident. Since then Steven as played at an host of local bars and clubs to try and expose himself, He as even featured in a local magazine. Steven now holds a Residency at Pure Energy,sesh on & bonanza Aswell as playing at numourous other events such as and The north wests biggest hardcore night totally lost it. MC Smeg is known for his Catchy and In-depth Story telling rhymes which work up the croud nicely even on the largest of stages. 2012 is set to be an amazing year for steven so watch this space...
