Rollers rollers rollers!!!! Focus comes through with a drum n bass steepin' mix full of depth and warmth on all levels. Focus has been a pioneer and one of the most traveled stateside talents and this mix shows why he is in such demand as an artist. Known for his in-depth tunes (though none repp'd on this mix) and style, it is refreshing to hear a mix that can be enjoyed while stuck at work, but also one that can parlay to any club night and have the patrons stepping. The meat of this mix lies in the middle, where seriously my head was a constant non-stop bobbin'. Each cut on this mix distinctly stands out on its own, but as any good DJ would do, when mixed properly Focus brings even a new level to the songs. Pon de mic, Sabotage is "in and out like a robbery" flexing his skills. A true stateside MC, his mic clarity, unique style and ability to rhyme words outside of "flow" & "mc" shows why he is regarded heavily in his neck of the woods. Focus and Sabotage a heavy combination on this mix!!!
"Straight out the gate, pow pow pow", Flatlyne gives us a mix that is a tech/hard step runner. A set I’ve deemed Children Of Men Meets Blade Runner 2007 (see the movies, ha) this set races along at breakneck speed. With lots of growls, snarls and dark undertones on this mix you can tell Flatlyne meticulously and painstakingly choose every song for a specific reason. Known in his parts for always playing quality material from “up-and-coming” producers, Flatlyne’s selection is a display of such talent. Each song has been produced the “shit out of”, meaning that the talents on each song left no stone, no sound, no theme, no element unturned in getting their message across (holy fuck check out the hardcore breakdown on “Moving Galaxies” and the screaming on “Dead Wrong”, fukkin’ killer)!!! Flatlyne puts this all together to make a tech-steppin’ jem of set on this Back2Back Session!!!
