About
Professional Work
On this page you will find an ever growing collection of songs that reflect the diversity of my musical spectrum. The most consistent feedback I have recieved is that my compositions have a "soundtrack" quality. My music has been featured in films by Drury Bynum (Drury Bynum Films), Berry Blanton (BZ Worldwide), Julie Bent (LOT 201), Mind & Media and others.
I really enjoy working with video artists and helping to enhance already wonderful art. All my songs are downloadable and I would encourage you to experiment with my music. I am also open to composing original work for film and dance presentations. If you decide to use any of my music or seek to collaborate with me in composing something original, simply contact me at maxbentmusic@gmail.com
Artist Statement
I have been trying for the longest time to navigate the terrain between sequence and improvisation. I like drum beats, accordions, guitars, beatboxing, and singalongs. I especially like the magic that can sometimes result out of the musical relationship between two or more people.
I started making music with an ASR X-Pro in 1999. I sampled vinyl for beats and other sounds, using the ASR to edit and arrange. I graduated to computer arrangement sometime around 2001 and started using Ableton Live around 2007.
I'm at the point now where I want more than anything to collaborate with other like-minded artists and make music that captures the imagination.
