MatthewCSHughes (formally known as 2tone on the garage scene) is a Pop/Soul/funk/R&B singer, songwriter, composer, producer, DJ and sound designer.

Matthew started singing and performing when young, being influenced by MJ, listening to his records in his bedroom, often for hours at a time, then later, getting friends together to form a group, practice and rehearse growing up around the influences of Benny E. King &The Drifters, The police, Queen, Brian Adams, Keith Sweat, Donell Jones, Prince jazz, soul, funk, R&B.

Although wanting to pursue music earlier in life, he was always pushed away from this but then at the age of 17 he went to his first karaoke night, where an already formed band approached Matthew after being dazzled by his version of 'End of the Road' by Boyz 2 Men.

The band went through a few different line ups until eventually the members were concreted and the band was given it's name, 'Touch' at which point they started writing songs together and training with another well known band, Another Level's vocal coach, Kevin Leo, eventually writing unsigned for Sony, but the band sadly fell apart just as they were potentially going on the Brit awards as new comers.

Undeterred, Matthew continued writing solo and two years later was signed to publishing company Point Blank after collaborating with a producer from the Point Blank production course and is currently still signed for 'Front2Back' which is on iTunes, BeatPort and all Major outlets.

He then took a break from the public eye for a few years and was involved in various projects from deejaying at the top of the Gherkin and working in radio to producing backing tracks for TV adverts.

Always feeling singing and music was his destiny, Matthew started writing and producing with long term friend Daniel Demant and in 2010 took it to a more serious level, forming pop duo HeadMoverz, recently performing at venue's such as Sutra, Bar rumba, The Leicester Square Theatre and most recently the o2 Greenwich & 'Music In The Park' St Albans and is performing in the musical 'Stand & Deliver' and with crossover at the horn St Albans & various other locations.

Currently Matthew is writing his Album, building a strong team of Vocalists, Rappers, Writers, Musicians and forming a Urban funk soul Band and will be giving full time in the very near future!

Feel free to approach Matthew if you would like to work with him on any projects including his own.
