I rap and produce, I once saved the world. I am also 1/2 of MartianGodz.

Hailing from the under industrialized city of Gary, Indiana Jack Marz emerges to share tales of his 24 year old life. Jack Marz began his journey of “seeing sounds” at an early age after being exposed to the southern blues from his grandmother and stealing hip hop tapes and cds from his father. Around the age of 18 he decided to put his musical knowledge to use and began to create music out of his mother’s basement.

After releasing his first solo effort “Expensive Ta$te” which has to date has accumulated over 3500 plays and/or downloads via soundcloud and bandcamp. Marz is looking to follow up with "Tree of Life," a more personal and cinematic view in to his life and music. "Expensive Ta$te was a journey of Marz as he transformed from boy to man. Whilst "Tree of Life" is walk in that same man's shoes" say Jack Marz. Marz has pushed his sound to a even greater level of individuality. He touches upon a range of styles and subject matters. Integrating classic hip hop techniques, catchy hooks, hard hitting beats and electronic sounds with lyrics of broken relationships, horrible jobs/bosses and trouble with the law. The MC is striving to bring his audience in as deep into his music as possible. With plans to release the "Tree of Life" independently in 2013, Marz is making sure every detail is perfect. Not only did he mix and master most of the album himself but he has directed his own videos as well as help develop the artwork as well.

Over the past couple of years Marz has been building buzz for his music by releasing music from within his hiphop group MartianGodz and the music collective TEAMGREENWHATUP. “My passion is touring, I love spreading my energy and positive vibes to the fans, which are more like my friends I call them the Team Greenions.” Marz says with a slight grin. Jack Marz and his TEAMGREENWHATUP camp is ready to make a strong push this year and with “Tree of Life” picking up steam, they are on the right track. Be on the look for this and other albums from TGWU...
