I learned this tune from Irish fiddler Lucy Farr when she was in her mid 80's. I regularly drove Lucy to The Bull at Stanford Dingley a pub in West Berkshire on Monday night's where we used to play in a regular session with Les, Sara and Luke Daniels, Paul Hancock and Dave Maggs. We also played a few times on the BBC radio programme 'Irish Eye'. Lucy originally came from Baile na Kil, East Galway and made her name playing in 'The Favourite' and the Bedford Arms in the 1950's - 70's when she moved to London. There she played with Margaret Barry, Bob Davenport, Julia Clifford and Bobby Casey. A well respected musician, she made several L.P.S for Topic and appeared once at the London Palladium. She also played with the Bothy Band in New York on one occasion when visiting her sister
