Mark Pompeo was born in Jersey City and spent his early childhood in Bayonne, NJ before his family moved to the small town of Montvale, NJ where he was raised. His journey into music began in the 5th grade when he started playing percussion in the school band and later forming a rock band with his friends in high school. His love of electronic music developed in college where he started DJ’ing fraternity and house parties, with early influences like Laidback Luke, Wolfgang Gartner, and Afrojack. Upon graduating in 2010 with a degree in electrical and computer engineering, he went to grad school for an MBA during which he started producing under the name DJ Marquee. Over the next 3 years, his tastes evolved growing into a love of the world of tech, influenced by producers like Umek, Sebastien Leger, and Jay Lumen. After a series of self-released originals, remixes, and bootlegs, Mark made his Beatport debut in 2013 with the Ebb and Flow EP released on House Lab records, now producing under his real name. He now prepares to re-enter the world of DJ’ing after signing with the Divine Bookings agency.
