“BUFFALO’S ABSTRACT TURNTABLIST”
- Artvoice
While attending art school in New York City in 1998, Mark started DJing Drum and Bass / Jungle. Making Breakbeat Science his second home, he acquired an extensive vinyl collection. While in NYC he hosted a Drum n Bass radio show at the School of Visual Arts, along with playing a few weekly events. In 2000, Mark moved back to Buffalo NY, making guest apperances on 91.3 FM WBNY’s Underground FM, playing large scale events and gaining residency at ‘The Return’ at 658, Buffalo’s longest running Drum n Bass weekly. He had the pleasure to play along some of the greats: Adam F, J Majik, John B, Stakka & Skynet, DJ Rap, DJ Trace, Dara, Reid Speed & more. In 2002 Mark Kloud began genre bending sets, playing several different styles such as Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Drum and Bass, Ambient, Experimental and more. Pushing new sounds in Buffalo, Mark set the tone while opening for: DJ Krush, Amon Tobin, DJ Vadim, RJD2, Boom Bip, Prefuse 73, DJ Craze, Mr. Lif, Roc Raida (RIP) DJ Spooky, Eliot Lipp & more. Within the past few years he has pushed his musical boundaries playing Electro, Breaks and Dubstep … playing alongside: Gemmy, Villans, Classixx, Deadelus, Ghislain Poirer, Eskmo, Joe Nice, Von D and Tokimonsta, Vibesquad and more.
