After studying Music Technology for 5 years and getting a First Diploma in Performing Arts, a National Diploma in Music Technology at NDAI in Bangor in the North of Ireland and a further Diploma in Sound and Music Technology at the Sound Training Centre in the Temple Bar Dublin, Belfast's Mark Rogan felt ready to get his music released.
His first release was “Boriquas/Dance With Me” EP on talented up and coming Techno DJ/Producer Ilgar Khaligov's Hereket label. His next release after that was “Aurora” and “Black Hole” on Sula Muse Recordings run by ever prolific Techno DJ/Producer Paul Mac. His “Subline EP” featured the tracks “The Dead OF Night” and “Rhythmical Dawn” was then released on Bellboy Records by Scotland's own “Master Of Funk Techno” - Chris Cowie. Futhermore, He then had a further four tracks released on Triple Recordings, run by three of the biggest Techno DJs/Producers in Spain and Portugal - Darkrow, Mooz and A.Paul, as well as two more on Dublin's Static Recordings (“Solar Flare EP”), which came second in the Best New Label category at Irish Dance Music Awards, a couple of years ago! They were two tracks of driving Detroit style techno to get any dance floor hot n' sweaty in the late hours.
His most previously released project; “Cops Have The Best Dope! EP” was released on Labrynth Recordings, in late July 2010. The label is a Portuguese Techno label with American and European names like A.Paul, Loundon Kleer, James Ruskin, Michaelangelo, Coefficient, Systemic, Ben Gibson, Mike Parker, Ritzi Lee, Mike Parker, Exium, Grovskopa, Regis and so on releasing for them. “Cops” has had plays and support by Dave Clarke in both clubs and on his Whitenoise Radio Show, especially “Part 3” of the EP as well as local DJs/Producers and names above plus Psycatron, Paul Mac, Ben Sims, James Ruskin, Bas Mooy, Marcel Fengler, Ritzi Lee, John Karagiannis, Cassegrain, Mike Humphries, etc...
Last year, the FFWD, which is a programme to accelerate the development of the Northern Ireland music industry had chosen him for inclusion on a promotional CD compilation was being marketed towards media and industry at the 2010 Amsterdam Dance Event. In this he had two tracks on the compilation. On CD 1, which featured 12-14 tracks of Northern Ireland artists / producers, his track on this CD was “Cops Have The Best Dope - Part 3”. CD 2 then featured 2 x 30 minutes DJ mixes by Psycatron and Space Dimension Controller, again featuring Northern Ireland artists and producers.
His new EP; "Silhouettes, Shadows & Reflections", was soon released recently (16th May 2011), on the highly thought of and supported M_Rec Digital Techno label. It is a sister label of M_Rec Ltd and other notable Techno artists on the labels are Max_M (owner of the labels) Jeroen Search, Paul Mac, Chris Finke, Bas Mooy, A.Paul, Charlton Ravenberg, Counterpart, Coefficient, DJ Mark Morris, V1NZ, Luis Ruiz, Darkmode, Carara, Concerete DJz and many more... The EP has early support and plays form top local Irish artists and DJs to various international ones... Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Bas Mooy, Psycatron, D. Carbone, Paul Nazca, Concrete DJz, Audio Injection, Samuli Kemppi, Ascion, A-Brothers, Mattias Fridell, DJ Danko, Daz Furey, Acid Circus, Xavier Morel, Submerge 101, Justin Berkovi, DVS 1, BCR Boys, Darkmode, Zone Radioshow, etc...
All tracks of the EP are on the Driving, Hypnotic, Atmospheric and Percussive Techno tip!!!
His next release; "Hallucination/Serenity" - an EP of contrasting Techno, both TR-909 driven pieces, with a modern twist... was released on Independent Irish label, Dublin Xpress Recordings, with support for example coming from Support and plays form top local Irish artists and DJs to various international ones...BCR Boys, Bas Mooy, Psycatron, Ian O'Donovan, Vince Watson, Samuli Kemppi, Miniminds, Mattias Fridell, etc...
Now in 2012, with a theory of producing “quality over quantity” and fusing Deep, Soulful, Detroit and Funky Techno to Driving, Hypnotic, Atmospheric and Percussive Techno, his productions have received support and plays form top local Irish artists and DJs to various international ones in both clubs and radio stations. He is also working on and is in talks with other labels about new projects and remixes. From using the same techniques and emphasis in his DJ sets, he has been invited to and played in some of Belfast's top nights as well as gigging elsewhere in Ireland... and soon, Internationally!!!
His latest EP; "Anxiety/Paranoia", an EP of Driving, Hypnotic, Atmospheric and Percussive Techno tip with sweeping pads, grungy basses, rolling and driving percussion and dark atmospheric FX... is out on promo soon and released soon on new Irish imprint; DSNT- Records!!!
Anxiety/Paranoia" will be the first release on the label with remixes coming courtesy of Paul Mac, Forward Strategy Group, Bas Mooy and Jerome Hill... already getting support from top local Irish & International DJS & Producers... even before promo!!!
