Respected DJ, producer and promoter that has been rocking the dancefloors from Bolton to Brazil for the past 20 years.
People around Mark realised his talents; when as a teenager he hijacked his fathers reel to reel and started to cut and splice many genres together from funk, soul, disco and early electronic music and was then let loose on vinyl turntables.
Having grown up down the road from the legendary Hacienda in Manchester and Cream in Liverpool and heard that jacking Chicago sound for the very first time, I was instantly hooked. This was the sound that changed the world for me and was something I wanted to be part of.
Mark started his trate on the illegal rave scene at the Revenge parties in the early 90's and then secured a residency at Wigan Pier, which helped launch K Klass, Dream Frequency and many more. After visiting all the major clubs in Europe, Mark was honoured to play at the likes of The Temple, El Divino, Swoon, Bagleys, Legends,Emporium, Cafe De Paris, Millenium, Lemon, The World, Pure Space and then moved into a promoter role at various establishments and lead The Temple to , "Club of the Year", as quoted by Ministry magazine, where he packed 2,500 clubbers in week after week for almost 4 years. This enabled Mark to bring Sasha and Digweed and their Northern Exposure Tour to the club and was delighted to support them as a resident DJ.
Most of us in the early years of the scene had to constantly fight. We had to fight for space, for sound, for music, for a voice, for validity. Many of us didn’t even know we were fighting, we were just deeply connected to the music and had to express it, whether making it, playing it, or dancing to it. It was even a fight just to get the music. It was expensive, limited, and you had have the hook-up to get the choice new releases in your area before someone else did.
The music was a necessity for us, the very essence of us. We were mocked, we were told it was garbage, it wasn’t real music, that it was a passing fad. Because we were so connected to the music and identified ourselves through it, this meant they were calling us garbage. We banded together, we built communities, philosophies, and we danced our asses off because it was who and what we were.
Every record was special, it was a weapon in the battle for validity. Every scratch, imperfection, and skip was a memory of a party, an experience, a good time, a bad time. We didn’t replace our music every week, we played it until it wouldn’t play anymore. And even then we might try to play it a couple more times hoping that it had somehow magically healed itself through our pure love of the song. Long story short, we weren’t just connected to the music, we were the music.

After graduating with a batchelors degree in engineering, Mark decided he wanted to discover new sounds from around the world and was fortunate to land a residency in the summer of 98 at El Divino in Ibiza. Here he met Ron from Submission, London and was a regular at their events, playing alongside the legendary Paul Oakenfold.
The years to follow helped Mark carve his production passion, starting with duties on a Submission compilation with Lee Gourman from Bow Wow Wow and was catapulted to Miami to represent Trackmoon records and his very own Psyence records, after collaborations with Watkins, King Unique and Northern Underground, under the guise of Magistus, who were regular buzz chart winners on Radio 1.
After an educational trip with Sony, acting as A&R business development manager representing their Japan department for Toryumon, Mark now works as head of operations for many corporate companies, most recent; the MTV awards held in Liverpool.
Embracing technology, Mark now spreads his sound through the medium of radio, after successfull shows on Manchester's Key 103, Mundro Live in Brazil and recently won a mix competition on Proton radio; based in the USA.
You can catch Mark every year at the world famous carnival in Brazil, were he is a regular on a months tour and has been for the past 6 years.
