If you want to, you can send me work in progress stuff. Maybe I could help out.

Or if you'd rather wait to send all of it completed at once that's fine too.

@macylytle: So I was thinking this could get you in a mindset about the song. I've decided that the layout of the film is going to represent a "pokebattle" in one way or another. but on a much more abstract level. That's why I like your groove intro you currently have because it's like the showdown intro to the battle sequence. You already have this going on...

I was also thinking of having the song segmented into five parts...each 'segment' of the song would introduce a new generation of pokemon and by the end, they all get jumbled up or something.

so movement is slow, parts added aren't up to par. Its been shit. but still workin away, I keep working, will find a good sound..

@macylytle: I think you're on the right track with the reverb

yeah all that sounds great. Just send me a new version whenever you're ready. I'm going to look through the other songs you have and see if there's any way we can recycle some stuff/put some sort of variation of the other songs in this one..

@MCmansion: I totally get the whole subtle pokemon cries, and the crazinesss would be my pleasure! Do you want new melody and then a crazy break-down into just nutznesss haha. I'll try a few things out, I can post newer recordings in the next week.

@MCmansion: well also that high tone that keeps going wasn't actually ment to happen, I needed to put a cut on it and didn't. I kinda like the way it sounds but it needs to be more distant or reverb sounding, not like BEEEEEEEEEEPPP.

@MCmansion: so two bars of random sounding tones, in key, maybe a bit off key. also Do you want me to slowly bring in percussion? Do you want more build up?

@MCmansion: yeah I know I hate fades to tell ya the truth, It is an unfinished song so I just faded when recording.. that end fade was the loop of the song back to the beginning. I will work out the end in a better way.

      MCmansion at 2.14 on January 30, 2011 04:17

I also like the way it comes back in right here. But maybe this interlude goes on a little too long...I'm not sure though..

Basically what I'm saying is the song shouldn't sound like a song at the beginning. Just a random series of tones that slowly move into the beat.

      MCmansion at 0.00 on January 30, 2011 04:03

@MCmansion: Also, the single tones can slowly bring in two tones that may sound dissonant or off.

    • MCmansion
      MCmansion at 3.45 on January 30, 2011 04:02

Maybe it does a single tone and clicks out.

    • MCmansion
      MCmansion at 3.45 on January 30, 2011 04:02

I think I'd like to have the song end on more of a resolute tone rather than a fade out.

      MCmansion on January 30, 2011 04:01

Something I also like about the song is that some of the percussive sounds are similar to the pokemon cries. Like I could catch a little voltorb and stuff. I like how subtle it is. Maybe by the end you can have more if it coming in. I really want the end of the song to go crazy and almost anti-melodic.

This is also a really good point. I feel like this is where it gets to a large swell. Do you think you could extend the time between this point and @ .46 by like another minute with other variations on this?

Maybe can you try continuing the melody here until the percussion breakdown?

    • MCmansion
      MCmansion at 0.00 on January 30, 2011 03:40

At the beginning, add like twenty seconds/a few more bars that are various low single tones that somewhat resemble the song. Kind of low and slow.and then slowly bring in the percussion sounds.
