Lee Hazlewood wrote this song for Nancy Sinatra in 1966 - released by her on the 22 of Feb - so the anniversary is coming up - and I adore her version of the song, but few people have actually heard Lee's own rendition of his classic - it's a timeless piece of music and he sings it marvelously and as I was CWG-ifying it - I thought about the words aaaalot and realised that the song is really about the self and how much time we waste messing where we shouldn't be a messing doing stuff that we ain't at all passionate about with people who hurt us and mess us up even further! The boots we all wear are made for walkin and they are magical and that means we are meant to be wearing them and using them to walk away from boring and insane people and situations... and start walking all over the world, doing amazing things with our magical talents... hope u like my slightly slower honky tonk take on this brilliant oeuvre:-)
