With the help of Garage Band, and the fabulous marketing/network hosting of soundcloud.com, I am able to take my latest music project to such great heights ( a shout out to The Postal Service). I am a bass chick who has done it all as music does: performing, composing, writing, selling (I was a music associate for The CD Warehouse in Lancaster, Pa. It went out of business like all good records stores did, sigh). Yes, I even taught ( Roseville Music Center for over 5 years). I am grateful for all my endeavors. Some of them include: I was asked to audition for Anti-Flag; I didn’t realize who they were and never went. (Cool thing to do, right? I thought so.) My best friend went to the University of Pittsburgh where she and Justin Sane had a women’s study class together. I wonder if Justin ever graduated? The most cherished moment was when my band, at the time, Writhing Electra was featured on John Taylor’s website (solo period) called Trust The Process. Patty Palazzo, his webstanista emailed me stating John and she really dug our version of Sweet Jane. Presently, I am focusing on all the sounds that made an impact on me. It is refreshing to finally be able to mix the sounds of my heritage (Greek/Anatolian/Middle Eastern music) with the other musical sounds that influenced me over the years: New Wave, Punk, Post-Punk, Funk, Classical, Indie, Alternative, and World music. It has been a rewarding process and the support has been tremendous.
