Margovan was born in the North East of England and now lives in London.
He first started experimenting with music at the age of 12 years old, playing with a set of turntables and second hand vinyl. The influences were as broad as his taste and was inspired by early Techno, House and Rave demos.
Now at 27 Margovan has performed alongside many artists across the spectrum. An avid learner and developer he now finds himself delving into all aspects of modern day dance music.
Currently he and his buds Chris Finke & The Outsider are taking a break from promoting The Drop in London. Specifically to concentrate on the creative side of music.
He is working on projects with Adam Gillett as their new act BINARYMETHODS to further the art of sound design. And with his recent signing to Rich Belsom's Phobic Records, the aim is to produce the music that he fell in love with so many years ago.

Bit of a rip-snorter this one and probably unsociable for most. A noise based groove, with a bit of tweakiness. Any comments welcome...... Unsigned as of yet.

It's a selection of rather deep Techno tracks that I am rating at the moment......some old, some new and a few unreleased that my friends have been so kind to donate :) Its a bit full on in places but I wanted...

Deep and rolling man, this is straight out of a Fortier set, it must have gone down very well when ya played it out? Great work sire

          2. Margovan on May 20, 2009 09:58

@Romart: Thankyou very much mate :) ...there is a newer version of this that i have yet to put up.....Adam did another mixdown of it but im unsure how to put it up in place of this one without losing all the comments....i thought i read somewhere you can.

          3. Romart on May 20, 2009 11:33

@Margovan: Oh yeah man, if you go to 'edit' on one of your tracks, up the top there'll be the track name and 'replace this audio file' button underneath. It will just replace the track and everything else will remain, details, comments etc. Would LOVE to hear the new version of this, get it up soon mate!

A newish groove that myself and Adam Gillett prepared for our Live set as BINARY METHODS in December. We never really got to appreciate it as we were so busy finishing material. Well here it is as a pre-mastered version. Any feedback most welcome :) By the way it is unsigned!

Here's a little mix I rustled up yesterday with a few of my favourite tracks from the past couple of months. I can put up a tracklisting on request :) It was my first try using Traktor Pro, the new Vestax VCM-600 controller and my MacBook. This is a downloadable promotional mix only. Respect the ...

this would get people moving nice strong beat

@Massimo: Thanks for the comments mate. I'm not overly sure about this one but from the kind words it makes me feel differently about it. I think it needs revisiting. The bass needs looking at again and possibly the whole mixdown. A job for a rainy day :)

            3. Massimo on December 29, 2008 19:50

@Margovan: you can always make it better but sometimes finishing the idea is key it sounds nice and dirty to me and i enjoyed it very much good stuff

            4. Margovan on December 29, 2008 20:34

@Massimo: Thanks :) It makes it more worth while. Yeah i agree with what you said. Its the last 25% of finishing tracks that's the hardest....the more tunes you do the easier it becomes. I only set up my studio in the last 4 months so I'm starting to taking it more seriously and finding ways of working that keeps the creative process flowing :)

some evil stuff, man. those lurking sounds are monstrous! cool track, despite the industrial-ness, some very nice atmospheres!

            2. Margovan on January 02, 2009 22:19

@michael j. collins: Thanks for the comments mate! Yeah this was a venture a few months ago. I like it but i rushed it. Thats why im not happy with it. I'd like to revisit it and remix the whole track. Take a few of the elements and make it more bumping. I have this drive for making my beats more cheekier. When i post my new one up soon, you'll see how my sound changes from track to track. Thats why i admire your stuff, you have a seductive sound. Cheers for listening bro :)

This is an excellent tool track man, with heaps of atmosphere.....im digging it :)

@Rich Jones: thanks for taking the time to listen mate, not too sure about this one. Thanks for the vote of confidence though....Just an idea....think i'll approach it differently....it needs more tension and movement. Too progressive for my liking :) But as a tool i agree it works pretty well. If you want the download let me know. Nice one!
