Hi, I'm Marc, I love music, so a lot of what i like doing is based around that.

I dj a lot in Birmingham, and have 5 residencies at some great nights.

I co-promote 3 events in the city - www.projectxpresents.com / www.mrelephant.com / www.myspace.com/rockfallbreaks , though Rockfall is on vacation at the mo.

I also write and produce music and have done over the last ten years. I have a home based studio with live instruments, virtual instruments, and a pretty well equipped DAW, which mainly uses Cubase Sx at the heart of it.

Music wise the stuff i play out is most known for party rockin breaks with much mash up genres until we go off with drum and bass at the end. Since 2007 i've also had a few non club type gigs such as bham opera afterparty, and hosting back bars, and found that i can explore my music collection, so have developed a party rockin strand of that which features a lot of soul, ska, after the mellow side of things. If i get the opportunity i get into the proper djing when its cookin.

The stuff i make is influenced by breaks, electronic music and the other genres i've djed over the past ten years, (and i've definitly worked more on that side of things,) and equally by live music, ever since i could walk. I have equal ambitions to make great releases in both sides, but the main direction is a fusion of both with an album based on a mixtape style, with a performance that captures elements of live gigs and dancefloor sets, working with some friends, and using loop pedals and the stuff in me studio.

I'm not as accomplished at making music as i am with the djing and events, and i've only really played my tracks out a few times as i dont feel they've reached the level i'd buy yet. While there are big gaps in between getting time to work in the studio, there's always a constant evolution in all areas of making music when i get back in there, and i've definitly had good responses over the last 4 years from the dancefloor, friends and peers, plus a few music commissions for things like New Vibes 2008, and Black Country Festivals and events. Still very much on the bus though it feels, with the ways of working refining as much as the stuff thats being produced.

I think there are some great ideas and parts in the tracks, so i guess i'd like to invite other peoples input, and if theres anyone with more skills than me, that might hear something in there that needs to be produced, edited, or whatever, then to drop us a comment at the part in the track, or even dload the parts to collaborate on or remix it.

I setup a site called Reckorder at the start of 2008, and wanted someway of putting my tunes online with the parts for dload for anyone interested in remixing, or producing the parts in an effort to get some of the past ideas out there, and actively get more input from others, but since creating a wordpress site, I haven't had time or the resources to do this as i'd like yet. This looks like it allow me to do just that.

So (for anyone that still reading!) I'm a dj, who makes some music, so am on here putting the mixes, unfinished tracks, and parts, and invite you to comment, collaborate or remix them with the view to push things forward.

I also want to have a listen to yours as i do a radio show podcast type thing, so feel free to give me a nudge/ get in touch.

Cheers :)

I get to play a lot of music in lots of places these days. I also want to find great stuff for my radio show, and on the breaks side of things, i get to pick my favourite 5 tracks every month for the night times, so feel free to drop your music (any genre) in my box. All the stuff i like i'll probably play out.
