Ez :) I'm Marc, I love music, so a lot of what i like doing is based around that.

I dj a lot in Birmingham, currently have 5 residencies of various styles, and co-promote 3 events in the city - www.projectxpresents.com / www.mrelephant.com / www.myspace.com/rockfallbreaks , (though Rockfall is on vacation at the mo.)

I also write and produce music and have done over the last ten years. I have a home based studio with live instruments, virtual instruments, midi controllers and a pretty well equipped DAW, which mainly uses Cubase Sx, Ableton and Traktor Scratch Pro at the heart of it.

Music wise the stuff i play out is most known for party rockin breaks with many mashed up genres building into the big room drum and bass and jungle, but the older i get, the more to get in, so there's a huge range of music i get to play now :) I also host back bars with trip hop, hip hop, funk, and swing, and i also had a few "non club type" gigs such as bham opera afterparties and live music gigs, which feature music more around balkan, swing, soul, ska....crowd pleasing, and eclectic, never too beard stroky, and never cheesy..basically :) i dig a lot.

The stuff i make as a producer / musician is influenced by breaks, electronic music and the other genres i've djed over the past ten years, and just as much by all the live music genres, (and has been ever since i could walk), so the main direction is a fusion of both with a performance that captures elements of live gigs and dancefloor sets, working with some friends, and using loop pedals and the stuff in my studio. Traktor, Ableton, Omnisphere, Battery, Stylus Rmx, Mobius, and various live instruments all routed into a heavy laptop are at the heart of this at the mo.

That said, I'm not currently as accomplished at making music as i am with the djing and events, but there's been a few music commissions for things like New Vibes 2008 at the hippodrome, and Black Country Festivals and events dvd, and the dancefloor and peer responses encourage me to play more stuff out.

So basically I'm a dj, who makes some music, and am on here putting the mixes, radio shows, unfinished tracks, and parts, with the view to inviting downloads, comments, collaboration, and future remixes with the view to push things forward.

On here expect some mixes, radio shows (started a show every monday at 6pm - 8pm on rhubarb radio/tracklistings on dj site - www.marcreck,com or www.mrelephant.com) and the tracks that are at various stages of development. I'm expecting more dj stuff in 2009, and more productions in 2010.

(I also want to have a listen to yours as i do a radio show so feel free to get in touch with that drop box)

Cheers and of course
Peace :)
