mDEX:
Shop/ Studio, MD’s Music Exchange, paved the way for MDEX Recordings in the summer of 2002. Early MDEX Recordings releases were charted by a wide array of DJ’s including Slam, Dave Mothersole, Sven Väth, Jerome Pacman, Deepchild & Nick Luscombe (to name a fave few). In 2009, disenchanted with club culture stateside, Marc Deon (founder of MD’s Music Exchange) pulled it in so that focus could be placed firmly on music education and personal artistic growth.
“There simply isn’t enough of a movement in dance music stateside to limit myself creatively to the genre. I’ve been inspired by artists across the musical landscape such as Cocteau Twins, Kraftwerk, Joni Mitchell, Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix & Depeche Mode and I think more of that comes through in the music I’m creating now."
