It was about 25 years ago, in the time you believe to be September of the year 1986, that a great event occurred. It was at this time that the being known as Manu-Mental came into existence in the city of Charlotte, NC. Manu brought with him the rest of what you may perceive as reality; including, of course, the finest of all pleasures, music. From a very young age he found himself drawn towards these vibrations that had the power to control and manipulate thoughts and emotions. Through the process of studying and practicing percussion, he was lead to discover both electronic dance music and the darkest of metal almost simultaneously. Immediately latching on to both genres, he began crafting his own forms of breakbeats, trance and jungle by the age of 14. Years later, in 2009, Manu found himself attending SAE institute in Atlanta studying audio engineering and continuing to hone his skills at production, recording and sound design. While in Atlanta he was exposed to the underground dubstep scene that was beginning to emerge in the city. After diving full force into the parties; Manu decided that it was time to present himself to the world in a more direct format, and began working on providing a live experience in addition to simply producing in the studio. In late summer of 2011, after moving back to his hometown, the time had come for his debut. Since then, Manu has garnered much local support from both fans and other artists alike, and now plays several nights a week at locations covering the Charlotte-Metro area. He has worked with many local collectives including UnopenedproduX, Linoge Productions and Gone Ape Music. Most recently Manu has joined forces with Damien the Omen and Dance for the Devil. In the coming months look out as Manu-Mental continues to grow and bring in a new and fresh energy to the scene that will shake you to your core and return you to a state of primal bliss!

Manu: In various Hindu traditions, Manu is a title accorded to the progenitor of mankind, and also the very first brahman king to rule this earth, who saved mankind from the universal flood. He was absolutely honest which was why he was initially known as "Satyavrata" (One with the oath of truth).
