this, the first single from mangabros (here almost twice as long in its intended form), goes many places in such a short time, touching on ambient piano ballad, electronica, floydian spacerock, with those formidable fragmented cut-up lyrics. the requiem for a dying hollywood tarzan. dark and droney with a wonky woozy warped pop sensibility.

time-stretched tarzan cries create cavernous ambient soundscapes. dark funk grooves n deep bass make for an even deeper darker headspace.

    LYRICS:
    shitload of shadows.
    bloodbeat. bird chaos.
    headful of hollows
    unreal, the reel.

    dark pixelation. seething static blackening.
    chimera obscura
    bromide tea and saccharine.

    rorschach of lungshot.
    ravens by the bellyful.
    hornspit of ass-plugs
    monkeys by the barrel-load.

    unreal.

king of the swingers/king of the apes/king of the jungle/king of the brave.
king of the rostrum/king of the pool/king of the la-las/king of the fools.

shoo be doo. i wanna be like you.
    ungawa.

x-rayed and exiled: a darker distant part of you.
    strung-out on one-lines
    made a palindrome
    of you.

scrotum full of ghosts. muzzled by the catheter.
    rutter of no-one
    yet somehow
    coming
    into
    Jane.

phantom creatures. boy and jane. crocodiles. tigers. snakes.
beat this chest, scream these lungs, beat this heart, beat this drum.
    i wanna be like you.

    wardful of shadows.
