Originally inspired by the rhythms that carried her in travels through Africa, then by the underground dancehall scene in Vancouver, then spending time elbow-deep in crates of '45s and finalizing it all with visits to Jamaica, Mandai is proud to represent as one of the Lighta! crew's femaie artists. Blending dancehall classics with newer gems and throwing down dub plates acquired while in Jamaica, she stays loyal to the island vibes. She has performed at Bass Coast, Shambhala, is a regular at the infamous Thursday Ting, and occasional underground parties that want to keep things inna dancehall style. She recently gave birth to Lighta's youngest little member. bup!bup!
