BIO:
Bringing the sounds of Drum'n'Bass to the Australian bush is no easy task but Malphemist is up for the challenge. Rocking dancefloors since 2009, he's played gigs in Perth, Melbourne and even the Cook Islands alongside some of the best talent in the psy/progressive scene. In 2010 he was a Top 20 finalist out of over a thousand entries in the international, open genre, Mixed in Key DJ Contest. In 2011 he received a runners up prize for his entry to the Ammunition Recordings "Diode - Binary" Remix Contest.

His style is as diverse as the genre itself - from deep, rolling rolling basslines with chilled out melodies to high energy neurofunk with snarling distorted bass monsters leaping out of the speakers and everything in between. His love of the genre and extensive (wobble/brostep free) library mean you will never hear the same set twice and it's always fine tuned to the energy of the party. Recent sets such as "Emergence" focus on an uplifting emotional journey with a smooth flow from dark sadness through frustration, anger, conflict, triumph and joy.

Not content just playing tracks, Malphemist has been hard at work in the studio with various collaborators writing and releasing his own. His influences include Xilent, John B, Blu Mar Ten, Exorcist, Spor and Landscapers. An active participant in the Australian doofing scene, it is not unusual to see him helping run parties, volunteering at festivals and even running his own.
