Northwest London native Major Notes aka Notesy aka Jay’O has been producing for the best part of a decade.

His musical journey began like most who couldn’t afford the equipment, with a cracked copy of Cubase. Having worked all summer he saved for an Akai MPC2000XL sampler and a Proteus 2000 sound module and never looked back.

First establishing himself as a prominent name in the UK Hiphop scene under his earlier moniker Jay’o in the early noughties, his Lossol Entertainment label were a sort after production team working with the likes of Fallacy, Craze 24, MD7, Nolay, Def 1 among others, and are still a breeding ground for talent in West and Northwest London providing studio facilities for talented up and coming local artist.

After falling tired of clichés and music confinements in the scene he developed a passion for experimental sounds, sonics and more creativity. In late 2006 after going to various house events and absorbing the sounds, atmosphere and vibe he fell in love with the genre.

Developing his sound in the early UK House and funky scene, he contributed vocal foundation bangers such as ‘Regular Lover’, ‘Hooked on you’ and a scene favourite ‘Friend of mine’, as well as DJ instrumental favourites Holy Ghost, Hell No and Alchamage.

His style has evolved into a blend of all things tribal, beats, percussion, syncopated and bleeps This varied sound has gained notice from DJ’s world wide with his tracks included in sets filling dancefloors at some of the biggests venues around including Fabric, Lovebox, Egg , Glastonbury to name a few.

His productions and remixes have gained support from likes of Ras Kwame on BBC Radio 1, Marcus Nasty (Rinse FM), Pioneer(Kiss 100) Greenmoney (Ministry of Sound Radio), Firin Squad (Choice fm), Steve Sutherland (Galaxy fm) and a wide variety of other big names.
