Magnifik stands for magnificent. Not so much the musician, but the music. It's all about the love of music.
Behind the project is that gentleman Ashley Feraude. If you know him, then it makes sense why the songs are romantic, calm, a touch melancholic? But let’s not take this all too seriously. Yes the tracks are a result of deeper life experiences but you can surely hear the light-hearted 80’s synth pop influence in there too.
At this point you would probably like proof that Magnifik is more than some guy in a bedroom playing on a synth to a cat. Well, among constant clubs and lounge gigs, he performed at the Warehouse Music Festival to thousands of screamers and a bunch of security guards with earplugs and even in the one and only New York as part of the Summer Stage Festival.
Magnifik has singles out on Yes Yes Records, Klub Kids, Bakehouse, Micropope and Troublemakers Music and remixes of such acts as PNAU, Parachute Youth and SAFIA on labels including Ministry of Sound, Etc Etc, Sweat It Out, Klub Kids, Bam Bam Records. The singles have been around the ARIA Club Chart and received air play as far as Radio 1 in the UK, Fritz radio in Germany and as close at Triple J in Australia. His songs even featured on the highly successful compilations including Ministry of Sound Chillout Sessions XIV, Hed Kandi Beach House, Defected Records Niki Beach Miami and RAW FM 2011. How successful? Even his grandmother has a copy of all of them. There is a LP called ‘Amateur’ and an EP titled ‘High End’ plus many more originals and remixes currently in production. His poor neighbours.
For all this effort he recently received a pointy award as the Best House producer 2013 at the Music ACT Annual Music Awards. It is now glistening in his studio, but let’s not focus on that but rather on all the music that his is lovingly working on now.
