DJ, Produzent, Promoter & Master of Disaster by Houztekk Records

In the beginning of the 90´s, Maximilian Meindl aka M-Fx found, in the age of 13 years, his love to electronic music. Provided with tapes of his friends at the original “Rave” parties, his DJ-carrier began with the very first visit in a vinyl shop, unlike to other DJ-colleagues after the first parties. The roots of M-Fx are somewhere between acid, Chicago-house and Detroit techno but the classification to a specific genre is till this day not easy.

Productions from “Dead or Alive”, “Strafe“ and “Underground Resistance” eclipsed all listening up to now and suddenly the only one enormous sound survived (continued to exist). Authoritative influences were the US-label Chicago Relief and the first releases of Cristian Vogel, the English techno pioneer as well as the label Tresor and Plus8, which were established at that time. Till this day, M-Fx is calling them his teachers. His first gig in front of a “real audience” was in 1995. After that the organizing of own parties followed. Due to love to music and passion of organizing events the collective “Houztekk” was founded .

Hence, M-Fx is one of the founders of the “Houztekk community” which arranged events like Elektromotor, Direktantrieb, Generator, Perpetuum Mobile and the Houztekk festival as well as the new series Houztekk Headquarters.

In 2007 one of his wishes came true because he fulfilled his desire to a „digital DJ android“. Sets from Maximilian aka M-Fx are quite often a mix of brand-new releases and tracks of the past years as well as unreleased materials which end in real time travels.

M-Fx is hard to grasp – he does not put himself into predetermined categories – this is what him makes interesting, one never knows what can be expected! Minimal meets Electro and is picking Techno up. Approaches of playfulness are ending in distinctive straightness, are broken up of unexpected cuts to change suddenly the course like a hurricane and to come out where one least expects it. Crossfire of styles of music are mixed greatly and so are not building monotonously soundscapes. M-Fx defines himself through his own style without following fixed rules. That makes him unique and characteristic. The visualization of his music is done by the great VJ-crew “4youreye” nearly exclusively for years now. 4youreye became a part of the Houztekk Crew.

Never mind - Warm up or Headliner - with his keen sense for the public M-Fx is versatile. His passion is the music and this is unmistakable!
