Bio -

Originally born in Cuba to a performance violinist mother and scientist father. Luis left (Cuba) at the age of 5 to the Ukraine.

In December of 1991 when leaving Ukraine for a new life in Canada, Luis and his mother were at Kiev international airport. The same moment they were about to board a plane to Canada news of the Soviet Union collapse was airing on Russian television. The two barely made it on the plane.

Since then Luis has grown up in Toronto Canada, a very diverse and individualistic culture, having exposure to many types of music and influences. In the early 2000’s Luis developed a taste for drum and bass and Djing which slowly developed as the years went by into different genres of electronica to House music, Techno and Minimal.

In the short time during 2009 as part of the Audio Creeps Luis was quickly finding himself to become a house hold name all over Toronto, whether it be performing live at Toronto’s top venues or collaborations with local artists and internationals locally and abroad (Subfractal, Tim Patrick, Imanos, Nunzi, Dirty Secretz just to name a few) and even opened for Steve Lawler At Circa New Years 2010.

Since then the trend has continued on the up and up as a solo act, and now Luis can be found playing Toronto’s premier venues, continuing to be a force in the production game being found on over a dozen labels on Beatport such as Funktion Records, Nervine Records, 180 Music, Balkan Connection South America, Rapidfire Records and the list goes on.

With a musical and mathematical background Luis is able to craft a unique take on House Music, and is quickly becoming one of Toronto’s standout and most sought after producers. One should take note at his ability to create and reinvent whatever it is he hears to inspire him and give him a unique twist in whatever genre of house or electronica he decides to make. With tons of unreleased tunes and collaborations in the works, expect to see nothing but more of Luis Sastre in 2012!
