About

damian daviid (born 1984) is an american producer and club dj, known for his dark touch on minimal, tech-house, nu-disco, and electro dj sets favoured by an eclectic crowd of art students, night walkers and other black sawn who tend to cultivate eccentric brilliance.Since 2009 he's worked strictly out of Providence, where in addition to releasing a full length "In new mirrors" [vinyl/digital 2010] and "sun goes down EP" [digital 2011] on his own label "love death disco" he's hosted three monthly dance parties; "VIIBD" in the Taproom @ "Local 121" and "Parallel" in the Cutting Room @ "The Salon" collaborating with various dj's and producers such as dj 11:11, Martin van Etten and Mike Hoska he continues his work today on a handful of remixes, live sets and upcoming albums.
"i'm attempting to bring contrast, by taking some nuances of disco to a darker more focused environment where they can illuminate the walls around us instead of tastelessly shining in your face, the same way i've always set up the lighting in any room i'd have to spend countless hours in, usually a studio, a bedroom or a combination of the two. eerie with a kick of funk, like gold text on flat black, there's texture, life, character and subtle sparks of madness, decomposing compositions"
