Hailing from the eclectic city of San Francisco, home to the acid rock movement of the 60's, electronic music producer and songwriter Cody Alan is no stranger to the incorporation of psychedelia in his music. Fusing influences from that same kaleidoscopic era, along with hip-hop and music from the LA beat scene pioneered by producers like Flying Lotus and Shlohmo, Cody Alan crafts his ethereal electronic music and psychedelic hip-hop and r&b. Originally a playwright and writer of short stories, Cody Alan uses his skill as a writer to create music that tells vivid sonic tales as it guides you through colorful and viscous synths. He continuously listens to the music of independent labels Warp, Brainfeeder, and Stones Throw for inspiration, where the artists are known to create genre bending electronic and hip-hop music. He collaborates with a number of vocalists and MCs from around the world, creating an impressive repertoire of tracks.

Cody Alan's latest work includes the dream-like dance film "From The Earlier" by the New York based Yomoco, in which he scored and produced the music for the film (http://bit.ly/K5aYcu). Also in the works is his debut EP, "Heart like a rabbit" which will be a filmy cobweb of intricate electronic tracks.
