Louie Swift - Pianist/Hammond Organist from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK.
Currently studying BA Hons Popular music at Leeds College of Music.
Mainly like funk/break-beat music, with neo-soul influences but generally into most styles of music. I play funk organ and sometimes produce a few "quantic-esque' tracks for fun :)
There's a bit of a bio below about my band from back home, but this page is merely used for anything I play on - whether it be Collective tracks or solo!
If you want to get in touch regarding gigs etc. my personal email address is - firstname.lastname@example.org
"The Louie Swift Collective (TLSC) are one of the best young funk/blues bands to emerge on the Yorkshire music scene in the last two years. The band play a vast range of musical genres including; popular covers, jazz, blues, soul, nu-funk and some great originals. They are equally at home playing intimate pub gigs/private functions as well as the larger stages of the summer music festivals. They have cultivated a loyal following of both young and old fans who appreciate their fine mix of songs from all eras, performed in a fun yet professional style.
The band cover songs by such artists as: Basement Jaxx, Sam and Dave, Stevie Wonder, Santana, Van Morrison, James Brown, Fat Boy Slim, Kings of Leon, Robbie Williams, Beyonce, Gnarls Barkley, Curtis Mayfield, Paulo Nutini, The Caesars, Toploader, Amy Winehouse, The New Mastersounds and Alice Russell to name but a few. Their ‘originals’ repertoire is becoming expansive too.
Since their formation back in 2009, The LSC have been entertaining audiences and playing assorted venues in the North of England. Their talents have also been enjoyed as far afield as Italy where the band gained many new fans during their 2009 tour playing clubs and outdoor gigs in forests and amphitheatres.
Despite The LSC being still a relatively young band, they have been earning respect from many of their elder peers of late. This has resulted in the band working with such notable performers as Dennis Rollins Bad Bone and Co at The Scarborough Jazz Festival. They have also delivered impressive performances playing outdoor festivals where they have shared the bill with other notable up-and-coming acts such as: Little Comets, Futureheads, Lethal Bizzle, White Light Parade and Detroit Social Club. Their memorable opening performance supporting the Utah Saints at last year’s Aftershock Festival established them firmly on the festival circuit.
The current band line-up consists of: Louie Swift (Piano - Keyboard - Hammond organ - Guitar - Backing vocals), Ashley Maycock(P.O.D)/others (Bass Guitar/Guitar), Aimee Jones (Vocals) and Miles Santini (Drums - Backing vocals). A reputation for being ‘hard-working’ and ‘talented’ precedes The Louie Swift Collective.
