Dark Bird With Corner (by Mark Goodwin)

From the Longbarrow Press pamphlet and CD 'Distance a Sudden'. This version was performed at the Fat Cat, Sheffield, 24 January 2010 (as part of the 'Distance a Sudden' launch). Four machines (CD player, cassette player, two dictaphones) and one speaker (Mark Goodwin, whose contributions are infrequent and brief) make a 'tape fugue' of the poem 'Dark Bird With Corner' as it runs in and out of phase with itself. The distant voice and the distorted voice shift emphasis throughout. Tape op and mixing by Brian Lewis.
