About

In short, Lokua (born Joshua Jay Kleckner) is a Chicago based producer and live p/a artist. He is a founding member of the Moment Sound collective and label, host of the three years and running weekly electronic music night Heartbeats, and the first artist on the newly formed CPKAY RCRDS. His back catalog consists largely of instrumental hip hop (literally thousands of tracks) ranging from jazzy boom-bap to nightmarish theme music. The last decade as seen Lokua shift his focus almost entirely toward techno and ambient music consisting of 100% original sound design. Recent work has been likened to that of Time To Express, Prologue and their ilk. Most notably he is an intense and experienced live performer; for years rocking Chicago's underground parties and traditional venues, opening for artists such as Claude Young, Daedalus, and local heroes The Opus.
