    The moon was still there
    even though it disappeared
    behind the mountain
    weighted clouds
    black puffs mirror
    the tufa rock
    eons goin by
Al Green hits the highest notes
Is there one amongst us with such soul today ? Al Green
A town full of perfect buildings
    and a sky island
... it's the power of longing
    the power of longing
How long do you think we could make it last
A boy and a girl beside a river
    the power of longing
    I'm thinking forever
    I'm thinking forever
I'm thinking forever and a day
    (the power of longing)
    no possession but belonging
    no possession
    no position but belonging
Is this the way to make love last ?
    Is this the way home?
Is this the long way home ?
And the part of my vision I thought was lost
    returns to me today
    through the power of longing
    Don't forget
    try to remember it always
    the moon in the mirror
    the sky island
    the mule deer didn't disappear
    it's the power of longing...
the long road of an old mining claim
I'm closer to that recurring dream than I've ever been
and I know what it is now
    it's the power of longing
    the unrequited song
and in the graveyard the wind blows and I have their names
    Gilbert and Winslow
wherever the trains on the north Santa Fe go
    they're making up a picture
    I photographed before
    today it's still the same
about the same time about the same place
it's the power of longing waiting for you
(how long can we make it last is this the way is this the way is this the way ...
    no possession but belonging
    the moon in the mirror
when it all keeps tumblin down
    didn't disappear
    the sky island didn't disappear
(what drove us here is what drove it West)
dust blown off of an old mining claim
    it was there all along
    closer than it seems
I'm closer than I seem to be
    moon in the mirror
    the power of longing

Fantastico! With much love from Liz.... your .new site coming along too I see...first chance I've had to peek...reaching state of critical crossroad now,BTW: sending George Cromartie (in Van) all your links. He was just pulling out some old M Fish recordings he has. A lot of reconnection happening with the still remote possibility that I will be going back there & this caretaking passed on...the way isn't too clear yet,the struggle at fever pitch. Radiohead: " Just when you see it, it's gone, Just when you feel it, it's gone..." ;)

Words: Driving around this lonesome desert town/Not a lucky penny in my pocket now/Like a fish out of water since you been gone/lost my color vision chasing a mirage/Looked like an ocean I could swim through to get to your EYE landfall Don't tell me it all comes down to money/What we do and did not do/There's a guard at this border crossing/telling me there's no way I can get through /with a mouth full of see ya later ididn'tmeanthethingsisaid All the love I've been saving up/All the things I never did say to you. You think I don't know how you feel, but I do... Suppose you hate yourself and Love is a stranger/Comes knocking at your door late one night/With arms wide open/You think she's asking for favors/You can't give cause you think might lose But what is it you lose my friend? Same story written on all our faces/Our fall from graces, We all once knew...You think I don't know you, but I do. YOU ARE MY TWIN UNDER THE SKIN xo L

@dustchord: Oh...it's live in that it's me singing & playing guitar (1 stereo track) real time against a quickly thrown up percussion/instrument digi track (2 tracks there)...So it's 4 tracks only..I like to work in as close to real time as possible to catch the moment...then go in & see what I've got ;)
