An acoustic remix of an old song of mine, this time featuring the fabulous messrs. Rudi Bakken on accordion and mine truly JohnnyMindlin adding spoons and mandolin besides playing the dawg, singing the bass, playing the jaw harp, being arranger and producer.

Thank you Rudi for your fine jam on this version and thank you Johnny for going hell for leather on the kitchen soup spoons and twink-twonking on the mandolin that was gathering dust in the corner.

    About the tune...
Washing the dog(s) was one of my regular chores as a kid. My dad, the green fingered garden wizard, bless him, used to order a truckload of manure from the local chicken farm several times a year. The dogs would go nuts every time, running around carrying big brick sized chunks in their mouths and rolling around in it, and inevitably it was my job to wash them afterwards. But first I had to chase them and catch them. Those of you who have dogs will know what I'm talking about. :)

Johnny who couldn't get to the mike quick enough to sing the dawg.....and the bass part...and play the jaw harp...besides doing all the production and arrangement on this...and then adding spoons....and mandolin...needless to say, one talented guy.

**FIDDLERS and BANJO PLAYERS...I'd like to invite you to come up with accompaniment for this track.

Truck came by from the farm today, bringin in the chicken dirt from faraway
High as a mountain, covered in flies, poor papa gotta dig it in by and by
Feed the garden, spread it round, make them chillies and string beans grow
Watch the spinach put on a fine show, dig it in deep and hold your nose

Oh no that dog's gone crazy, don't let him, uh-oh oh, don't let him, no no no
Rollin in the chicken dirt, eatin up the chicken dirt, go roll roll
Wash the dog, wash the dog, catch him if you can
Let's clean that stinky ole dog right now, catch him if you can

Scrub him down, back and legs, yeah monster suds with paws
Rinse him with the garden hose, towel him down right now
Licky licky face yeah yeah, waggy waggy tail yeah yeah, licky licky face yeah yeah, waggy waggy tail yeah yeah
Look out, look out, he's gonna, he's gonna, he's gonna shake all over

Shake shake jump back, shake shake jump back, shake shake all over, shake shake all over
Shake shake jump back, shake shake jump back, shake shake all over

Oh no he's gone back in there, don't let him no no no, don't let him no no ..awww
Rollin in the chicken dirt, eatin up the chicken dirt, roll roll roll
Wash the dog, wash the dog, catch him if you can
Let's clean that stinky ole dog right now, catch him if you can
