I recently spent an evening sitting by the evening primrose plants in my garden as I wanted to see their flowers opening up. While waiting for this to happen, I watched the garden traffic go by.

The bass is a Garageband loop.

I've been waiting for you in my garden
    Under the moonlight
    Teeth gleaming white

Well I sat there waiting just waiting for those dab primroses to open at night
Well I stared and I stared and I stared and nothing happened
Well I looked up at the sky and saw the swallows hunt for flies
And I looked at my garden shed and what did I see but
A little mouse with big big ears
And he scuttled by and he stopped
He stared and stared and stared at me
And I thought how dare you stare at me
When I'm busy staring at those primroses you see

( Mouse: 'I'm just passing by, just passing by.' )

And those goofy moths flapping here and there
They're dancing circles round each other as they circle my garden
    And I ..

    A cat passes by.....hello puddy

    And then poink!
    They've opened
    Which just goes to show
When you're paying too hard attention at something
There's just too many other fun things to see.
