About

Lee Bass Bio:

The Past:
Lee Bass's interest for music started at the age of three when his father launched the first Black Music and Funk Club in Germany, which was called The Funky Corner. From these early steps onwards Lee has been addicted to Funk, Hip Hop and Electronic Music.

When Drum and Bass came up he really did feel the sound but was not into playing it due to the high tempo. At one certain point he bought his first Big Beat and Break Beat records which perfectly fitted into other styles. This was when he really felt the Break Beat sound!

From 2002 onwards Lee promoted parties in differnt cities and under names, such as F***in Breaks, Un:Breakable, Watch the Breaks and Raw Breakz, reaching cities from Düsseldorf, Cologne, Essen and Wuppertal.

Lee used to be one of Germany’s well known and respected Breaks Djs and promoters. He played along Leeroy Thornhill ( Prodigy ), Aquasky, Deep Impact, Dj Quest, Barry Ashworth (Dub Pistols), Superstyle Deluxe, The Capoeira Twins, Circuit Breaker, Malente, Maral Salmassi + many many more. He played @ clubs and festivals all over Germany.

In 2006 he launched his own Break Beat Label „Basstard Recordings“ where names like Circuit Breaker, Transformer Man, D-Ranged and many more released proper high energy Break Beat Music.. In 2008 Lee stopped running the label to focus on his own productions.

Lee was also part of the Hoffnungshuette community which used to be a small underground venue in his hometown Duesseldorf. This location was organised by himself + other creative minds with the focus on a non commercial club and place, where nice people can come together to party and to be creative in all subcultural urban aspects.

The Present:
Today the name Lee Bass represents a genre crossing club sound reaching from Breaks over Fidget, Electro, Dubstep to House. Lee is part of the project I:LYKE which already released a number of remixes and singles on V.I.M. Their first Album is due to be released late 2010. He’s also a producer for the german rapper JayJay and is part of his live-gigs.

As a solo producer Lee did several remixes for people like Audiotrucs, JayJay, Jay Brooks, Mike Golden, Analog Geeks, Leuce Rhythms and FLX. Some have been released, others will be out soon. His first EP „Bass is“ will be out later in 2010.

Lee is resident Dj at the „Ballroom Blitz“ events in Essen where he plays alongside acts like Malente, Maral Salmassi, Zero Cash and many more.

This aint enough? Lee is also doing his own event called „London Bass Music“. These parties represent all the bass driven club sound he likes.

Together with JayJay they run the Label and Event „Achtung Schäääpat“. First EP called „Sommerzeit“ was released in August 2010, the Remixes EP will be released in November and JayJay’s highly acclaimed Album is due to be released in December..Loads of mad things happening !!!
